Day 1
Delhi, India’s capital, is important not only for its political power but also for how politics has shaped it over time. Therefore, while exploring the landmark locations is a must, so is exploring the city without a timetable. A leisure walk that takes you to an unknown corner with a story so old that it never made it to the books. Therefore, as you reach Delhi, your first destination, get transferred to your hotel, relax there for a while, and then spend a day exploring the city at your own pace.
Day 2
Now that you have seen the city leisurely from afar, it is time to dig in a bit more and get to know it better. So, on day two, eat breakfast and get ready to explore the city.
The day will start as soon as you start visiting the various attractions located in Old Delhi. Old Delhi is where you see the things of the Mughal era. This side of Delhi is known for some of the most landmark spots that are not only historically significant but also architecturally rich. Some of the spots that you will visit today include Jama Masjid and Red Fort. While on this side of the city, you can also visit the famous Chandni Chowk, a market with many attractions within its narrow, bustling lanes.
New Delhi, which was built during the colonial era, is next on the list. The whole layout of this side of the city is much more spacious with wide avenues, which feel much more European in style. Some of the major attractions that you will visit on this side of the city include Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, and Lakshmi Narayan Temple. They offer a mix of imperial legacies and modern monuments.
Once you have explored the two very different but equally beautiful and alluring sides of the city, it will be time to call it a day and return to your hotel for your overnight stay. As the next day will include travelling, try and get some good nights’ sleep.
Day 3
As you wake up on day three, get ready for a fun road trip. As you will be leaving Delhi and starting your journey to your second destination of the trip, Agra. But before that, have your breakfast, pack your bags, and check out of your hotel. And then hit the road in your pre-allotted vehicle, enjoying the view throughout the journey. Agra is about 180 km from Jaipur, so it will take about 4 hours to reach. As you finally reach Agra, check into your hotel, settle down in your room, and rest for a while before you hit the streets of the city. After stretching your legs for a while, begin exploring Agra’s Mughal masterpieces.
The first spot on the list today will be Sikandra, the majestic tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar. The tomb is known for its architectural symmetry and the serene gardens surrounding it.
The next stop of the day will be Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula, two of the most historic sights in the city. While the Agra Fort is a red-stone monument with remarkable architectural artistry, it also offers a serene view of the beautiful Taj Mahal. And then there is the “Baby Taj,” the Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, a monument made of delicate marble with intricate inlay work.
Day 4
As you wake up in the city that has redefined love and art, Agra, a beautiful yet thrilling day lies ahead of you. To ensure you can fully enjoy the day, wake up early, have your breakfast, and be on your feet.
While you have already explored the rest of the city on the previous days, it is time to capture the iconic Taj Mahal in the early morning light. This white marble mausoleum, built by Shah Jahan, is one of the most iconic monuments in the world and a symbol of eternal love.
Once you had explored one of the world’s seven wonders, it will be time to start your journey to one of the most beautiful places in Rajasthan, Ranthambore. The city is known for its natural beauty and splendid wildlife. The city is home to one of the major national wildlife parks in the world, where you can take a safari and catch a glimpse of the beautiful wildlife, including tigers.
However, before you reach this natural retreat, make an en route stop at the abandoned Mughal capital, Fatehpur Sikri. Some of the key sites here will include the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and the tomb of Salim Chishti. As the dusk approaches, reach your stay in Ranthambore, where you will have an overnight stay.
Day 5
Day five is all about exploring the wildlife of Ranthambore. Therefore, you will take part in the early morning and afternoon wildlife safaris into Ranthambore National Park with a naturalist guide. You will have enough time between the safaris to relax at the resort and enjoy the surroundings.
On the morning safari, you get the opportunity to begin the day with a thrilling jeep or canter safari in the park, hoping to spot tigers and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
After the morning safari, you will return to the resort for lunch and rest. Once you are all re-energised and refreshed, you will head out again for the afternoon safari.
Once both safaris are done, you have the entire evening to relax and enjoy. You can also explore the resort or nearby sights at your own leisure.
Day 6
On day six, you will bid adieu to this natural retreat and start your journey to the last but not least destination of the trip, Jaipur. Also known as the Pink City or the Paris of India, Jaipur is one of the oldest cities, developed with a clear vision and immaculate architecture. The brilliance of its makers is still evident in the city, whether in its soft pink walls or the narrow lanes of its market. After breakfast in Ranthambore, check out of your hotel and start your drive to Jaipur, about 180 km or 4 hours away. On arrival, check into the hotel and rest for a while. After a quiet afternoon, take a walking tour through Jaipur’s colourful bazaars and streets in the evening.
Day 7
As you wake up in Jaipur, you have already had a soulful experience of the city. So now it’s time to get ready for a more up-close experience. Today will be a full-day sightseeing day in Jaipur.
Your exploration will start at Amber Fort, which is a hilltop fortress with stunning views. Here you can ride an elephant up to the palace ramparts and have a classic Jaipur experience.
The city palace was the residence of the royal family and is now partially open to the public. It is a beautiful complex that blends Rajput and Mughal architecture. It features a museum that has royal artifacts, paintings, and armour.
This monument is famous for its ornate façade, adorned with hundreds of small windows. Royal women originally used it to observe street life without being seen.
Jantar Mantar is a historic astronomical observatory built by Raja Jai Singh. It features large and precise instruments for measuring time and celestial movements.
