Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Jaisalmer Local Sightseeing

Jaisalmer Fort

Start your Jaisalmer local sightseeing trip with the most glorious spot of the city, the Jaisalmer Fort. The castle was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013 as part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan group. It is one of the few living forts in the world, standing tall in all its yellow glory amid the glistening dunes.

Patwon ki Haveli

Your next stop should be the beautiful clusters of five havelis, which are also the first haveli of Jaisalmer, the Patwon ki Haveli. Commissioned by Guman Chand Patwa in the early nineteenth century for his five sons, the haveli took about fifty years to complete its construction. Currently under the control of the government of India, the haveli houses the Archaeological Survey of India and the state’s Art and Craft Department.

Maharaja Fort

From the haveli, move forward to the spectral Maharaja fort, an architectural wonder that shifts from a tawny yellow in the morning to a glistening gold at night. Built in 1156 CE, the fort is not one of the largest in the world, making it the perfect spot to get a glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich history. Open to the general public, the fort displays how the royals used to live.

Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli

Another architectural wonder in the city is the Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli. Remarkably, the haveli’s construction began from two points, enabling swift and efficient completion. The massive yellow elephant statue and the carvings of elephants on the yellow walls are all a breathtaking view.

Vyas Chatri

Your next stop should be Vyas Chatri, a beautiful blend of Hindu mythology and Rajasthani culture. Dedicated to the great sage Vyas, it is one of the most visited spots in Jaisalmer. The original structure is adorned with beautiful carvings, which can be thoroughly enjoyed during the colder months of October and November.

Kuldhara City

The trip, which might be a single-day excursion to Jaisalmer, is full of adventure. If you’re looking for a thrilling experience, then our next stop, Kuldhara, is for you. Built in the nineteenth century, the city has been abandoned by the villagers. As per the legends, the village was abandoned due to paranormal activities, making it one of the most haunted places in the world.
