Agra Fort

While you cannot wait to visit the epitome of love and artistry while in Agra, first visit the Agra fort, which is a grand red-sandstone fort that was once the seat of Mughal power. What is even better is that its ramparts offer views of the Yamuna and the Taj even before you reach them.

Taj Mahal

As the grand final of your visit to Agra, your next spot should be the Taj Mahal. It is one of the seven wonders of the world, and one look at it will tell you why. Though you may not enter the Taj, but even viewing it from Mehtab Bagh gives a serene and beautiful perspective across the Yamuna, especially when it is close to sunset.

While you can have a lazy morning, to save energy for travel, you might want to wake up early and catch the sunrise at the Taj Mahal.   After your early morning sightseeing, it will be time to say goodbye to Agra and start your journey to Jaipur. But before you reach the pink city, enjoy some en route exploration as you take a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted but exquisitely preserved Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar, featuring the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and royal courtyards.

Day four starts with a delicious breakfast and continues with a full city tour of Jaipur, one of the most romantic and magical cities in the world.

Amber Fort

Amer fort is one of the oldest and most gorgeous forts of Jaipur. It is a majestic hilltop fort with grand ramparts, palaces, and of course, the most famous and beautiful Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors).

Jal Mahal

Translated to “water palace” in English, Jal Mahal seems to be floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It was built as a summer retreat for the royals and till date is a very photogenic spot, especially from the lake’s edge.

Hawa Mahal

Another architectural gem in the city is the Hawa Mahal. It means the “Palace of Winds,” and is a pink sandstone façade with hundreds of small windows that create a striking honeycomb-like latticework.

City Palace

The City Palace of Jaipur is the next stop. While it obviously has that royal charm as the residence of the royal family, one thing that distinguishes it from others is its alignment with other major spots like Govind Devji and the Ghar Ganesh temple.

Jantar Mantar

For anyone who is interested in science and architecture, Jantar Mantar is a treat. It is an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II and features giant sundials and innovative instruments. It is a true example of the intelligence and innovation of our ancestors.

Market tour

A trip to Jaipur is never complete without visiting the various bazaars, such as Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, which offer jewellery, textiles, handicrafts, and more. The best thing about these bazaars or local markets is that they are very logically planned and placed, with each market dedicated to a specific item.

Day five will mark the end of the trip as you will finally leave for Delhi. But before that, enjoy your last breakfast in Jaipur and then check out of your hotel. As you reach Delhi, you will be dropped off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
