Udaipur Jodhpur Jaisalmer Tour Itinerary

Your journey will start in one of the most romantic and naturally beautiful places in India, Udaipur, also known as the Venice of the East. The cultural richness, the artistry, and the natural beauty of the city are evidence of how abundantly blessed Udaipur is.

• City Palace

  While almost all cities have their own city palaces, Udaipur’s city palace is unmatched in beauty. It is a majestic complex of palaces built by maharanas of Mewar. The palace features various courtyards, balconies, and museums, all in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style, offering a panoramic view of Lake Pichola and the city.

• Local Markets

  Just as you get done with exploring the city palace, you step out into the local bazaars of the city, vibrating with life. The bazaars are colourful and artistic, with shops selling handicrafts, textiles, jewellery, and souvenirs, making it a perfect way to experience the local culture.

No amount of time exploring the city can ever do justice to this jewel of Marwar. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t try; we therefore continue our exploration journey on day 2.

• Fateh Sagar Lake

  Fateh Sagar Lake is one of Udaipur’s most famous lakes. It is an artificial lake surrounded by hills, perfect for boating and enjoying some calm, quiet time on the water. The lake also has three small Islands, which, if time allows, you can explore in a more relaxed manner.

• Karni Mata ropeway

  Karni Mata is believed to be the protector and provider of Udaipur. As the temple of the goddess is situated on a hilltop, you must take a ropeway to reach it, which offers a bird’s-eye view of the city, its lakes, hills, and palaces.

• Lake Pichola

  While Udaipur is the city of lakes, Lake Pichola is like the king of all those lakes. And the lake does justice to its popularity as palaces, ghats, temples, and islands border it. Though the beauty of the lake is obvious and hard-hitting from every corner, there is nothing that beats a boat ride on the tranquil water of the lake.

• Lake Palace

  If it is not too late, then you must visit the Lake Palace. It is a beautiful palace situated on an island in Lake Pichola, which has now been converted into a heritage hotel and is known for its romantic setting and architectural beauty.

As day 3 approaches, it will be time to say goodbye to the city of lakes and start your journey to the Blue City, or the gateway to the Thar Jodhpur.

• Kaylana Lake

  While Jodhpur is famous for its blue houses, antique architecture and rich culture and history, it is also the perfect place for a nature lover, especially if you visit the Kaylana Lake. The lake is situated on the outskirts of the city, making it the perfect spot for a picnic, bird watching and experiencing a beautiful sunset over tranquil water.

• Mehrangarh Fort

  If you are interested in architecture and history, this destination is a dream come true. The Mehrangarh Fort is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular forts in Rajasthan, situated on a hilltop and guarded by seven massive gates. Inside the fort, you will be able to explore some gorgeous palaces, courtyards and a museum showcasing royal artefacts.

As you wake in Jodhpur after a full day of exploration, enjoy an early breakfast and quickly check out of your hotel. Once you’re all loaded in your vehicle, it is time to hit the roads that will lead you to Jaisalmer, the golden city of Rajasthan.

• Jaisalmer Fort

  A trip to Jaisalmer can never be completed without visiting the famous Jaisalmer Fort. It is one of the world’s only living forts, full of life and vibrancy. The palace is made of yellow stone, giving an illusion of gold that shines in the sunlight. Inside the palace, there are temples, narrow lanes, shops and homes that you can explore.

• Badal Palace

  Badal Palace is another example of the fine architectural skills the city once had. Situated near the Amer Sagar gate, the palace houses the tajiya tower and is built in an ornate style. A part of the palace has been converted into a Heritage hotel where you can enjoy a royal experience.

• Dessert Safari and Camp

  While no trip can be complete without a camel ride or a jeep ride in the desert, these Golden Jaisalmer dunes offer much more thrilling experiences like quad biking, dune bashing or even a paragliding experience. These activities will not be the perfect adrenaline rush, but they will also be a great way to experience nature up close.

On day 5, this amazing trip will ultimately come to an end. Depending on when you will leave for your home, you may want to squeeze in a quick visit to the famous Gadisar Lake.

• Gadisar Lake

  It is a historically made artificial lake, which was initially made to serve as the main water reservoir for the city. Built centuries ago, the lake still serves as a calm and serene spot, much like an oasis in the desert. It is surrounded by temples and ghats that you can visit and have a quiet moment of peace. You can elevate the experience by taking a boat ride on the lake as well.

Once you are ready and all packed up, your driver will drop you at the airport or railway station from where you can continue your journey back home. As this trip concludes, make sure to take back your bag full of memories that will keep you nostalgic until the next time.
